Studio Pilates

In case you haven’t spotted it yet, Studio Pilates has now opened next to Black and White café near Bunnings. With 15 reformer machines, polished wooden floors and chandeliers, this luxe studio is worth a look.

Studio Pilates' 13 instructors take 51 classes every week. Each is 40 minutes long and sculpts your entire body.

This is the second studio that franchisee Taryn Currie has opened – the other is in Rangiora. She says pilates is a super popular exercise.

“It’s going off and the good thing is pilates is not a fad – it’s been around for decades. The fact anyone can do it is one of the things I love … there’s no jumping or jarring moves, it’s even great for those rehabilitating an injury.”

“My favourite thing is seeing egos pop when big burly rugby players workout next to petite people and realise that little person is on a heavier spring setting than they are.”

Studio Pilates is part of an international franchise with around 100 studios. Taryn’s Rangiora studio recently won three franchise awards – for the largest growth in revenue and clients and for the highest number of visits per clients.

“Our Rangiora clients take an average of 2.7 classes every week – that’s more than any other studio in the franchise. I love that little ol’ Rangiora is topping the charts.”

Taryn expects the airport campus studio will be equally popular.

“It’s easily accessible, has great parking and is next to a thriving café. Pilates and then a latte – what could be better?”
